Inspiration Explorer - Lower East Side Tenement Museum

Lower East Side Tenement Museum | New York, New York

I visited New York City for the first time in 8th grade. I remember two things; climbing the Statue of Liberty all the way up (it was 6 months before 9/11) and visiting the Lower East Side Tenement Museum. The museum blew my mind, as a kid from central Maine, I had never been to a museum like it, and I loved all of the architectural details and objects in the space. From that day on I was obsessed with the history of New York and exhibit design — I did’t know Production Design existed as a career yet, but looking back now, I know this museum is where it started for me.
