We are a group of colleagues dedicated to mutual support through sharing knowledge, encouragement and experience. The Collective enables its members to exchange professional experiences, give and receive advice, discuss current issues in the field and construct a community of like-minded visual creators.

The organization‘s objectives are: to be a hub for production design organizations around the world; to promote our profession by bringing awareness and acknowledgment of our contribution in the entertainment industry; to elevate the profession by mentoring future generations of production designers.

The Collective maintains and updates its content on this website, blog, Facebook page and a bi-monthly newsletter.

FOUNDERS

Inbal Weinberg

Born in Israel and based in New York, Inbal studied Film at NYU, where she concentrated on production design. Her film credits include award-winning films "Frozen River", “The Perks of Being A Wallflower”, ”Pariah” by Dee Reese and “Beasts of No Nation” by Cary Fukunaga. She has collaborated with director Derek Cianfrance on Academy Award nominated films “Blue Valentine” and “The Place Beyond The Pines”, and his Emmy-winning mini-series “I Know This Much Is True”.

 

Inbal was nominated for the David di Donatello award for her work on Luca Guadagnino's "Suspiria”, as well as Art Directors Guild Awards for Martin McDonagh’s “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” and Maggie Gyllenhaal’s ”The Lost Daughter”.

Kalina Ivanov

Kalina Ivanov is an award-winning production designer whose work includes the Oscar-nominated film “Little Miss Sunshine,” “Rabbit Hole”, “The Conspirator”, “Poltergeist” and “Max”, the Golden Globe-nominated television show “Smash (S2)” and award-winning HBO series “Lovecraft Country”, for which she received an ADG Awards nomination. Prior to that, she earned a Primetime Emmy Award and ADG Award for the HBO film “Grey Gardens”. Kalina most recently collaborated on the films “The Boys in the Boat” and “The Tender Bar”, both directed by George Clooney. She was the storyboard artist for Oscar-winning film “Silence Of The Lambs”.

Kalina is a co-founder of the Production Designers Collective and serves on the board of the Sofia Independent Film Festival. She is currently on the Design branch executive board of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

BOARD OF ADVISORS

Michael Bricker

Michael Bricker studied architecture at the University of Texas in Austin. His early production design work included festival favorites like Andrew Bujalski’s Sundance-awarded “Computer Chess” and Robbie Pickering’s “Natural Selection”.

 

Shifting to television, Michael designed the first season of Netflix’s “Russian Doll”, for which he won both a Primetime Emmy and ADG Award. Other recent work includes Megan Abbott’s “Dare Me” for USA/UCP, Netflix’s international thriller “Hit and Run”, and the upcoming Netflix heist series “Kaleidoscope”.

 

Additionally, Michael was the founder of People For Urban Progress, a non-profit and urban design do-tank based in Indianapolis. 

Lisa Myers

Lisa Myers is a Brooklyn based production designer. With a passion for story and composition, she likes to focus on projects that are accessible, meaningful, and visually arresting. Her joy in filmmaking comes from the collaborative process.

 

Lisa started as an art director on films such as “Robot and Frank” and “Very Good Girls”, before turning to production designing films including Mélanie Laurent’s “Galveston”, Julius Onah’s “Luce” and Liz Garbus’ “Lost Girls”. Recent projects include the film ”Bros” and TV shows “Wu Tang: An American Saga (S2)”,”Modern Love (S2)”, “Awkwafina is Nora From Queens (S1)” and “The Last OG (S3)”.

Anne Seibel

Anne Seibel started her career as a set designer on international productions shooting in France, thanks to her English language skills. She was the Paris art director for the features “Munich”, “The Devil Wears Prada” and the TV show “Sex and the City”, as well as supervising art director for Sofia Coppola’s “Marie Antoinette” for production designer K.K Barrett.

 

In 2011 Anne designed Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris”, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award. They collaborated again on “To Rome with Love” and “Magic in the Moonlight”. Her other credits include Ralph Fiennes’ “The White Crow”, Agnieszka Holland’s miniseries “Rosemary’s Baby”, Damien Chazelle’s “The Eddy” and “Emily in Paris”, for which she received an ADG and two Emmy nominations. Anne is the Head of the Production Design Program at the La Fémis Film School in Paris.

Rick Carter

Rick Carter won Academy Awards for the production design of James Cameron’s “Avatar” and for his historical production design of Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln.” Carter also received Oscar nominations for his work on Robert Zemeckis’ “Forrest Gump” and Steven Spielberg’s epic “War Horse.” Carter has collaborated with Spielberg on diversely set films “Munich,” “War of the Worlds,” “A.I. Artificial Intelli- gence,” and blockbusters “Jurassic Park” and “The Lost World: Jurassic Park.” Recently, he collaborated with Spielberg on “The BFG”, “The Post,” and his auto-biographical film “The Fabelmans.” Carter has also designed Zemeckis’ movies “The Polar Express,” “Cast Away,” “What Lies Beneath,” “Death Becomes Her” and “Back to the Future, Parts II and III.” More recently, Carter co-production designed “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker” with director JJ Abrams.

Molly Hughes

Molly began her film career in 2002 as a draftsperson on "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." She went on to work on the franchise for the next eight years, eventually as an art director on "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Parts 1 and 2."

 

Molly launched her production design career with the film "The Fault In Our Stars." Since then, she has collaborated with directors Ron Howard on "Thirteen Lives" and "Hillbilly Elegy," and Charlie Kaufman on "I Am Thinking of Ending Things." She designed Joachim Trier’s film "Louder Than Bombs," and Thea Sharrock’s virtual reality animation film "The One and Only Ivan." Most recently, Molly again collaborated with David Yates to design his film "Pain Hustlers."

Ana Fortes is a Brazilian production designer based in Berlin. She has a BA in Film, a graduate degree in Architecture and Set Design and is a Berlinale Talents alumna. She prioritizes sustainability in her work through strategic thinking, set material repurposing and a diverse team. Ana joined the PDC in 2022 and was part of the team at the Production Designers Gathering.

Isaac studied Architecture at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and the Technical University of Munich. Over several years, he experimented in various design areas, including architecture, urban planning, interior design, BIM, digital fabrication, scenography, and computational design. Production Design serves as the convergence point for all his passions: architecture, history, art, design, and technology. Through his university he organized CINEARQ - an International Meeting of Architecture, Film and Production Design - in Mexico as part of the IPDW.

Diana began her career in Chicago, where she got a degree in Film from Loyola University Chicago. She spent half of her collegiate years between Rome, Italy and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam- two places that endlessly inspire her today. She is currently based in New York and has worked on several feature films and television shows as an art department assistant, in addition to having designed a few short films and commercials.

Katerina began her artistic journey back in Athens, Greece where she studied and graduated with a BA degree in Film & Media. She's also studied Theatre and has worked in multiple theatrical productions as a production designer's assistant. In addition to that, she's also interned for film festivals such as the Athens Fashion Film Festival. She is currently pusrsuing her masters in Film. Her passions include Art history, design, theatre and cinema.

Passionate for all things story and design, Jenny is a USA southern-bred Puerto Rican whose career includes an agglomeration of production design, interior design, and styling. Jenny graduated with a BFA in interior design from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2013 and has since let her artistic and global perspective lead her path. She has made it her mission to design environments that not only feel timeless and eye-catching, but that provide users and viewers with unique experiences.
